It’s hard to believe it has been 10 years…

Over the last ten years Mike Moran has traveled the country because of his music. His career started in 2003 Traverse City, MI playing every Tuesday night at Union Street Station for two years. That one show brought on many more. He has won songwriting competitions, and has been able to open up for some national music icons.
In 2009 Mike moved to San Diego with his girlfriend and his dog. When he arrived he was offered a weekly gig at Gordon Biersch Brewery where he ended up booking Saturday nights. Shortly after he took another regular gig at Carlos Santana’s restaurant “Maria Maria” on Thursdays. Mike was there from open until close and ran everything from auditions to performing on the weekends. Maria Maria was bought out in 2011.
During Mike’s time in San Diego he was a Finalist in the So-Cal Acoustic Music awards in 2010, and runner-up in 2011.
2012 was a roller coaster year for Mike. After breaking a tooth on the ocean floor in 2011 he suffered a series of infections that effected his ears and hearing. Still doing shows up and down the coast of California the issues began to mount and Mike decided to move back to Traverse City, Michigan to re-group, get healthy, and write more songs.
Mike still plans on gigging in San Diego where he met many friends and gained relationships with many great venues and his agents at Jewel Entertainment, Sleeping Giant Music, and McFarlane Promotions. Traverse City is home, and home it will be from here on out.
Mike is currently working on his new songs that he pitched at the Durango Songwriting Conference, and has started writing for other artists. Two of his songs “Spaces” and “75 and Sunny Skies” can be heard on the Golf Channel show “Golf Destinations”. He is also performing at Kilkenny’s on Thursday nights with one of his best friends Pauly Djams.
One project you can check out that Mike produces is www.drinkmybrewcast.com. A Podcast show where three Traverse City Bartenders interview the head brewers and home brewers of Northern Michigan.
